Celebrating events and festivals in our school has been an integral part of learning and building a strong cultural belief. As part of our efforts to inculcate in students the appreciation of and respect for India’s rich heritage and diversity, and also to reinforce in them national pride and respect for all, the school celebrates a number of functions including Independence Day, Children’s Day, Teachers Day, Republic Day, Annual Day, Sports Day, Grandparents’ Day, Gokulashtami, Dassera, Diwali, Eid, Christmas and Makar Sankranti.
The School Assembly is an integral part of the calendar of activities at the School. Every day morning the entire school gathers in the school ground to recite the school prayer, sing the school song and the National Anthem, and watch a short presentation by one class. Throughout the year, each class presents a programme on stage with the theme being either the festival that is being celebrated at that time of the year or any thought-provoking idea.
At St. Rita, we believe in constantly working towards our mission of creating global leaders of tomorrow by giving them exposure and opportunities today. The election of the student council is one such valuable life lesson for students.
The election process starts with the announcement of candidates for the student council and is followed by a period of enthusiastic canvassing and voting, after which the results are declared and the St. Rita Student Council is formed.
The Investiture Ceremony is the culminating event of the entire process, during which members of the Student Council take their oath as office bearers in the presence of their schoolmates and other members of the school community.
